Ambjörn Karlsson becomes CEO of Sanfridssons Måleri and Regional Manager for the Northern Region

After 22 years as CEO of Layer Group company Procidens Måleri & Golv (formerly Pitedalens Måleri), Ambjörn Karlsson is now passing the baton. Going forward, he will take on two new roles within Layer Group – as CEO of Sanfridssons Måleri and as Regional Manager for the Group's Northern Region.

“It feels both exciting and inspiring to be able to shift roles within the Group and bring my experience from one Layer company to another. I actually worked as a project manager at Sanfridssons Måleri back in the 90s, so in a way, it feels like coming home,” says Ambjörn Karlsson.

Sanfridssons Måleri, which offers painting services in Norrbotten and Västerbotten, has been without a long-term CEO for some time, and Ambjörn looks forward to leading the company with confidence:

“It’s a great company with a solid organization! Sanfridssons does quite a bit of new construction work, and the market has been tough, but it feels like things are starting to turn around. Now it's time to reclaim our position in the market and keep building.”

As part of this transition, Christoffer Granberg will take over as CEO of Procidens Måleri & Golv, which also operates in Norrbotten and Västerbotten, with offices in Älvsbyn, Piteå, and Arvidsjaur. He has been with the company since 2008 and became a co-owner in 2016. Ambjörn continues:

“Of course, there’s a sense of sadness in leaving Procidens—I’ve been part of building it from the ground up. But at the same time, it feels really good to hand over to Christoffer. He’s a key person, has been with us for a long time, and knows the business inside and out. I feel confident in the succession planning we've done, and I’m convinced he’ll do a fantastic job!”

Contributing on a broader level

In addition to becoming CEO of Sanfridssons Måleri, Ambjörn is also taking on the role of Regional Manager for Layer Group’s Northern Region, assuming overall responsibility for the Group’s 17 subsidiaries in the area. This role was previously held by John Strand, CEO and Group President of Layer Group, who is now handing over the personnel responsibility and related duties.

“This is an excellent solution! Ambjörn knows the region well and has done a fantastic job at Procidens. With Christoffer as the new CEO of Procidens and Ambjörn stepping in as CEO of Sanfridssons and Regional Manager, we ensure continuity and preserve valuable expertise,” says Group CEO John Strand.

By appointing Ambjörn, the region gains a leader who is close to day-to-day operations and who has the right background for the role—with extensive experience in both painting and flooring. This lays a strong foundation for continued development and collaboration in Layer Group’s Northern Region.
