Layer Group acquires MälarFasad – a growth company that adds specialist expertise in the maintenance of heritage properties
Layer Group is continuing its strategic growth in surface services with the acquisition of MälarFasad. The Eskilstuna company delivers turnkey contracts for the maintenance of heritage properties, including painting, roofing, and facade and window renovation, an attractive niche in surface services that adds cutting-edge expertise to the group.
Mikael Holmgren, regional manager Layer Group, Hugo Tullberg Wengholm, CSO & M&A Layer Group, Daniel Öberg, CEO MälarFasad, Maria Blomkvist, CEO Lönnbergs Måleri and Robert Lönnberg, founder Lönnbergs Måleri.
Layer Group is building a group of the most skilled companies in each local market – the best in painting, flooring and industrial paint systems. As part of its growth strategy and to strengthen its overall offering in surface services, the group’s service offering is expanding into attractive niches that show strong demand and clear benefits from collaboration. As an expert in heritage properties, MälarFasad will bring its knowledge to the entire group. In fact, they already collaborate closely with the Layer Group companies Lönnbergs Måleri and Lönnbergs Fönster. With the networks for exchanging experience and the cooperation forums that exist in the group, the addition of MälarFasad will be of value to even more of the companies in the group that work with the same type of customer.
“MälarFasad and its CEO, Daniel Öberg, have a wealth of expertise and excellent references. As a company, it’s well organised, boasts satisfied customers and has a strong focus on clarity and quality. They came to our attention thanks to their excellent cooperation with the Lönnberg companies and their impressive growth! It’s going to be exciting to see their contribution to our group and the development of strong collaborations within their niche,” says John Strand, President and CEO, Layer Group.
Daniel Öberg will become part of the management team at Lönnbergs Fönster and take an active role in their window business, where there are major synergies with the work of MälarFasad, which often includes major window renovations.
“It’ll be incredibly exciting to enter a large organisation like Layer Group, with more muscle and colleagues to share ideas with. MälarFasad has a strong order book and I see a bright future where we grow together! It’s also very inspiring to become part of Lönnbergs Fönster, where I’ll be taking an active role in window renovation, an area with an attractive market. I’m grateful for this vote of confidence, and I intend to make it work in the best possible way,” says Daniel Öberg, CEO of MälarFasad.
