Niklas Folkesson Leading the Industrial Coatings Segment Forward

Niklas Folkesson is a well-established figure in the industrial coatings industry and plays a key role at Layer Group. In 2024, he took on the position as head of our industrial coatings segment and has become a crucial player in the development of the business area, while also holding the responsibility as CEO of Tinter and Stoby Industri, two subsidiaries within the group.

Leading the segment forward presents an exciting challenge for Niklas, who aims to create synergies between our companies and open up opportunities for growth.

"My role is to coordinate our operations within industrial coatings while ensuring that we can grow, both organically and by identifying new acquisition opportunities. The industrial coatings market is still fragmented, and it’s crucial to find the right companies – but above all, the right people. It’s the people who make the difference. We already have a perfect match between our existing companies, and that is something we will continue to build on. It is incredibly inspiring to have the opportunity to develop these companies and strengthen the industrial coatings segment as a whole."

The industrial coatings industry is characterized by intense competition and constant changes, but Niklas sees great opportunities ahead.

"We work extremely hard on new sales. It’s not enough to sit back and wait for customers – we are constantly out there, actively seeking new business. This is a culture we have built over time, where we value relationships with both existing and potential customers. It’s about being present and understanding customer needs. By being proactive and engaged, we can continue to grow even in challenging times."

Niklas is part of Layer Group’s expanded management team, which provides him with new perspectives and the opportunity to contribute to the company’s strategic direction.

"I see this as a fantastic opportunity to be involved and make an impact. The industrial coatings segment differs somewhat from our other business areas, particularly when it comes to sales and customer engagement. We work much more actively with new customer acquisition and sales, and that is something I want to highlight within the group."
